I went to a workshop a few weekends ago and it was fantastic. The only problem was that I couldn't afford to take advantage of the mentorship aspect they offered at the end. I was fine with that, because recently my wife and I have become mostly debt free so I wasn't trying to add anything else to that. I know there is someone out there like "you gotta invest in yourself"!!
Honestly, the workshop WAS us investing in ourselves. in total the workshop (including a real estate class) was $3000. That wasn't bad because again we don't have debt so we had the money. Here is where things got dicey lol. The title of this is how to get focused right? Well, long story short the guy running the workshop challenged my ability to succeed without the mentorship. I understand that they wanna make their sales so I got it, but it rubbed me the wrong way.
I'm a firm believer that no matter how much you invest in your education, if you learn just ONE nugget it's worth it. I learned several nuggets. Some in the form of actual strategies and others in the realization that they asked questions of me that I couldn't answer. This led me to seek out what I didn't know so that if anyone ever asked me again I would have an answer. I know that I've grown because there was a time when I would have let that defeat me and give up. He was right though. I may not be able to get to where I want to be quickly, but I will get there.
All in all, I have become more focused because this guy told me I couldn't do something. I knew I liked being underestimated.
